Dr. Emily Howard is a senior engineering scientist with The Boeing Company, with over 30 years’ experience in aerospace. Her focus is human factors and user experience, which seeks to optimize human performance and end user satisfaction in the context of system performance and life cycle. She has worked on a wide range of products and applications, specializing in advanced technology and methods of user interface design. Other areas of expertise are decision-aiding applications, artificial intelligence, modeling and analytics, safety, and operations efficiency. She holds two patents related to display methods. She is also strong advocate for encouraging women in leadership and STEM, which has been recognized with awards from Boeing, the Society of Women Engineers and the Amelia Earhart Society.
