5D Fight Club | World Building Institute
USC Cinematic Arts

5D director Alex McDowell and 5D founder member Tali Krakowsky curate the 5D track at FMX 2010 this year. The day-long event contemplates how design, storytelling and new media create new processes of world-building.

These experiential panels will focus on conversations around the changing role of narrative in the creation of immersive environments ("World-Building as Culture"), our new interfaces ("Interface as World"), and how the evolving notion of play changes how we design ("Play as Life").

The final panel is inspired by the 8th rule of Fight Club: all 5D participants—panelists and audience—come together for a final immersive, open, interactive, and unorchestrated conversation.

"Fights" go on as long as they should.
