USC Cinematic Arts

John began his design apprenticeship on the Academy Award winning films CLEOPATRA and HELLO DOLLY.  As a Project Designer for Disney he worked on DISNEYLAND, WALT DISNEY WORLD, WORLD SHOWCASE and EPCOT; shows included THE HALL OF PRESIDENTS, SPACE MOUNTAIN, SPACE SHIP EARTH and 3D MUPPET MOVIE. Later he returned to film design on GHOSTBUSTERS, and Production Designed TOP GUN, TURNER & HOOCH and SISTER ACT II.

His company, Cinematix, has produced film, theatrical live show and built high theme corporate interiors, including those in Disney's Contemporary, Polynesian and Disneyland Hotels. He received his Architectural degree (cum laude) from the University of Southern California, completing two years of graduate work at USC's School of Building Research & Technology. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, lectures at USC, UCLA, Columbia College and the American Film Institute. He is completing his book THE ARCHITECTURE OF ILLUSION.
