Kate Cowper began her love affair with bicycles at a very young age. Her parents handed her the freedom of a tricycle at the ripe age of three. This pink and purple tricycle equipped with a trunk was the start of pedal passion for this young lady. Kate attended United Bicycle Institute in Ashland Oregon. Her first certification is in Professional Mechanics and Shop Operations. She received this certification in 2008. Over the next 2 years, Kate would continue to take classes at UBI and went on to earn certification in steel brazing and DT Swiss wheel building in 2009 and 2010. Kate is a partner and service manager for Hub and Spoke Cycleworks. Kate can braze a frame, paint it, and then completely build the bicycle from the ground up. Afterwards its time for her favorite part of the process, off for a long test ride to grab some coffee.
