Andy Merkin is the Producer for Special Projects and Transmedia at Mirada Studios. Overseeing cross-platform and nontraditional storytelling projects, Andy specializes in developing narrative for film, interactive and digital as well as unique user experiences and production management tapping the company’s diverse creative teams. Since joining Mirada in 2011, Andy has worked on the interactive film by Chris Milk for Rome (www.Ro.me), the THINK exhibit and forthcoming app for IBM's Centennial (thinkexhibit.com), and the departmentofhumanmanagement.org for Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan's The Strain trilogy.

Andy holds an MS from MIT specializing in transmedia production management, an MBA from HEC-Paris specializing in creativity management as well as an AB with Honors from Rollins College in anthropology and international business. He's written two theses: The Management of Transmedia Production in an Era of Digital and Media Convergence and Head Cults: Alternative Forms of Religious Phenomena in the Followers of The Grateful Dead, Jimmy Buffett, and Phish. A true believer that interesting storytellers (hopefully) have led interesting lives, Andy's previous work experience includes development and production for Sony Pictures Television, training teachers and entrepreneurs in the Peace Corps in Bangladesh, performing improv, and educating students in zoo keeping for Busch Gardens.
